Hello voices!
It's been almost a month since I last posted :p During that time I've been working on my mini-homelab, it's not much but it's a nice project for my to waste time on!
Currently my homelab is an old collection of pc parts along, a ugreen switch, a router and a whole bunch of wires. The server is running:
It use to have a 1tb HDD but it died after two weeks of use, rip the old thing it lasted over 8 years for me (◞ ‸ ◟ㆀ)
The router is techincallyyyyy not a router, it's a wifi extender lmao, I cannot convince my family to let me use the router in my room sadly, but it's connected to my Ugreen switch.
The switch is nothing impressiveeee it's just an 8 port Ugreen switch i got for like £20. It's been really nice so far with all it's blinky lights. I've actually got it stuck to the side of my bookshelf via a set of velcro strips. Currently I just have my server, pc and router connected into the switch leaving 5 more ports for other devices.
The server is running Proxmox so I can vertualise a bunch of different apps onto it, so far I'm running:
Currently I've had to take OMV, Jellyfin and Navidrome down due to my HDD dying, but I'm hoping to get them back up soon.
I'm looking into getting some 4 or 12tb HDDs for backups. This morning I got Forgejo setup and it's been so funnnn customising it, I tried my best to make it look like the website and it's so nice to look at with all my colours and CRT effects.
I've been looking into a new router, probably a Thinkcenter M720Q cause I see a lot of people using them and they're fairly cheap, I'd probably get a 4 port 10gig NIC to go with it too cause they're only like £30 and I'd like the speeeeeed (Ignore that my internets only ever been 10mb/s (っ- ‸ – ς)).
With the router I'd probably also get a rasperry pi or some other mini computer cause they look sooo fun to mess around with, no clue what I'd run on it but I'm sure it'd be cool.
